1.3 - BonjourServiceResolver collides with Bonjour Service and other issues

Dec 10, 2009 at 6:07 PM

The BonjourServiceResolver collides with the Apple Bonjour Service that is installed as part of iTunes.

This manifests itself as an exception that fires during the UdpClient create during the Resolve call.

Once you get past this by shutting down the Bonjour service, there is another error when attempting to discover a service (in my case the WiTap iPhone sample) that errors out with an exception stating that an attempt to read beyond the end of the stream occurred.

Any ideas? These scenarios didn't occur with the 1.1 version, which I plan to rollback to.

Hi,

Actually, the issue is that if the bonjour service is declared on the same port as Apple Bonjour Service, then, I will not catch all the messages and the service will capture them. This was an issue in 1.1

Now, I capture the whole traffic, but, it indeed conflicts with Apple Bonjour Service. I don't know yet how to make them live together.
